Notes |
This MS, which was written in the Loire Valley according to Bischoff's Katalog (Kat. §2451), but in Brittany according to Bischoff 1994: 128, contains a fascinating assemblage of glosses in different vernacular languages: in addition to some glosses in Old French, we also find here one gloss in Old High German and one in Old Breton (guelch, glossing strabones at fol. 13r, in the hand of the main glossator). However, at present it is not possible to know whether the MS was written in Brittany, copied from an exemplar that contained at least one Old Breton gloss, or glossed by a Breton speaker working outside of Brittany (e.g. at Tours or Fleury). |
Number(s) in Bischoff's Katalog | 2451 |
