Notes |
Deuffic lists this MS in his PMSB (301, §44, indicated under the wrong shelfmark '2696'), probably because it was included in Fleuriot's unpublished handlist (cf. PMSB 290). I am now aware of any specific Breton connections regarding this MS, which was generically ascribed by Bischoff (Kat. §2447) to Western Francia. It is nevertheless worth pointing out that several readings a prima manu, corrected at a later stage, may well be due to the erroneous interpretation of insular abbreviations: some very good examples can be seen, for instance, at fols 53r-v (with eius for enim, sunt for secundum, f and fa for secunda, etc.). As a consequence, we cannot rule out that the scribe was copying from an insular or Breton exemplar. |
