Reg.lat.1260 is a miscellaneous codex containing several codicological units of different date and origin, but mostly dealing with cosmology, geography and computus, and 'bound up at an early date' (as pointed out in LF p. 279): the unit in question here is the fourth (fols 125–179), or possibly the fourth and the fifth according to Mostert, who treats fols 125–164 and 165–179 as distinct units (with a dating 's. X' for the former and 's. X/XI' for the latter; cf. LF BF1485 and 1486). Bischoff (Kat., vol. III, p. 439) did not commit to any geographical attribution, and the relevant entry in his Katalog only offers a broad tenth-century dating for fols 125–164. While neither Bischoff nor Mostert hint at a possible Breton origin of this section of Reg.lat.1260, Deuffic (PMSB 318, §113) drew attention to Grosjean's suggestion that fols 125r–136v of the (Hiberno-Latin?) Cosmographia of Aethicus Ister were penned by the same hand that also wrote Rome (Città del Vaticano), BAV, Reg.lat.81, i.e. the only extant copy of recension A of the Hisperica Famina (and not Reg.lat.49, as erroneously indicated by Deuffic): moreover, this scribe may be no other than the elusive Liosmonocus (about whom see the entry for Reg.lat.81 in the present Handlist), who was active in Brittany and/or at Fleury during the ninth century (cf. Grosjean 1956: 38–40). Clearly, a complete reassessment of all the MSS and texts possibly associated with Liosmonocus is a major desideratum (this should include an evaluation of the script of the glossaries occurring at fols 165r–178v of Reg.lat.1260, two of which can also be found in Bern, Burgerbibliothek, 337, possibly written at Fleury; cf. Carey 1923: 135; LF BF159 and BF1486).

It is also worth noting that the third codicological unit of Reg.lat.1260 (fols 87–124), possibly written in the Loire Valley or at Saint-Denis, contains at fols 87r–99v a copy of the Irish computistical tract De ratione conputandi (cf. Ó Cróinín 1988: 107–9). Moreover, among the various computistical texts that occur within the same codicological unit, we can find (fols 119r-v) a copy of a lunar argumentum of possible Breton origin, containing the 'Hisperic' phrase tithis turgescentis dodrantem (on which see Bisagni 2013–14; Bisagni 2017).
