Notes |
According to Ganz (1990: 140), fols 23r-25v of this miscellaneous codex may have originally belonged to the Fleury MS Bern, Burgebibliothek, 207; however, it seems that Bischoff (Kat. §4958) disagreed with this view ('nicht Teil von BERN, Burgerbibl., Ms. 207'; cf. also Beeson 1947: 80, '... written in a hand conspicuously different from all the rest, a script closely resembling, but not identical with, that of the codex mutilus Bern 207 + Paris 7520'). It is worth mentioning that these folios, written in an early form of Caroline minuscule, present numerous insular abbreviations and palaeographical features (including several instances of Anglo-Saxon ð). |
