Connection with Brittany
Notes

As shown by the prominent position of Saint Martin at fol. 5v, this MS may well have been written in a monastery dedicated to this saint (perhaps somewhere in Aquitaine?); in any case, it later reached the abbey of Saint-Martial at Limoges, where the long litany contained therein was adapted to local needs. Although there is no indication to suggest that this codicological unit was written in Brittany, the long list of names of Breton saints (some quite rare) at fols 9r–10r (cf. ILLB In37, pp. 123–4) indicates that at least those contents may have been copied from a tenth-century Breton exemplar, as suggested in Duine 1922: 60. This MS is therefore a significant witness for the transmission of textual materials from Brittany to Aquitaine (especially Limoges).
